What is a letter? What do you use letters for? What is a number? What do we use numbers for? These were questions we answered and discussed today. Next came a SMART Board activity to sort letters and numbers. Then because it was a beautiful day, we headed outside with our chalk in hand. The kindergartners each drew two big circles and wrote letters they knew in one, and numbers they knew in the other. When we were finished they enjoyed drawing anything they liked, followed by some running time round and round each others circles and pictures!
